Ray- Clinical Psychotherapist
Rachel "Ray" Barnhart, MSW, LCSW joined Obsidian Care Collective, PLLC in November 2024 as a psychotherapist providing both in-person and virtual services. Ray is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (#C017291) in the State of North Carolina and earned their Master of Social Work from Hunter College in New York, NY in 2019.
Before joining Obsidian Care Collective, Ray provided outpatient psychotherapy as part of the Radical Healing Collaborative in Durham, NC. Ray enjoys supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals and couples in building safe relationships and lives worth living.
Ray's prior experiences providing therapeutic care in both hospice and cancer treatment settings, along with a deep respect for disability justice, have all been formative in their ongoing work supporting clients in grief, bereavement and chronic illness.
Ray is currently in training with the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis toward completion of a Certificate in Psychoanalysis and the Sociopolitical world, which emphasizes an anti-racist and anti-oppressive approach to relational work.
Ray is currently accepting new individuals and couples, both in-person and virtually.
