Daja- Telehealth Psychotherapist

💥 Daja offers sessions on Saturdays & Sundays💥

Daja Mayner, MSW, LCSW (she/her) joined Obsidian Care Collective, PLLC in September 2024 as a telehealth clinical psychotherapist. Daja is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (Lic# C012512) in the State of North Carolina.

With nearly 10 years of clinical service, Daja has had the opportunity to work in various settings including community mental health, corporate private practice, in schools, the Department of Social Services, and in managed care organizations. Daja earned her Bachelor’s of Arts in Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte before returning to UNC-Charlotte to complete her Master in Social Work.

During her time in graduate school, Daja discovered her joy in learning as well as validating and amplifying others’ stories. This clarity paved the way for her to enter clinical social work practice as a field-based family therapist serving children, adolescents, and families in rural NC communities.

After honing her clinical and therapeutic skills in home-based interventions for three years, Daja transitioned to a large multi-state outpatient psychiatric and behavioral health practice where she worked as a psychotherapist and Regional Psychotherapy Director. In this role, Daja championed her colleagues and provided clinical and operational support for more than 25 psychotherapists across four western NC counties. Daja served in this capacity for over three years before expanding her clinical skill set through clinical care management with a national managed care organization.

As a clinician, Daja employs an ecosystemtic approach that focuses on the implications of childhood and generational trauma on emotional well-being, self-concept, and attachment patterns. Additionally, she pulls heavily from systems theory and incorporates techniques from several modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Bowen Family Systems, Emotionally Focused therapy (EFT), and Motivational Interviewing.

Daja enjoys working within the intersections of race, sexuality, and gender identity.

In her free time, Daja enjoys reading, exploring with her family and friends and listening to new music.

Please note that Daja provides clinical services via our HIPAA protected telehealth platform.
